Overview
COSHH is the law that requires employers to control substances that are hazardous to health. COSHH stands for the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health and includes many chemcials, fumes, dusts and biological agents.
On completion of the course candidates will be able to:
- Identify the legislation applicable to the use of chemicals in the workplace, COSHH and REACH
- State the physical form of chemicals and detail the routes into the body
- Understand the Acute and Chronic health effects associated with exposure to chemicals
- Explain the rationale for exposure limits (STELs and WELs)
- Undertake a COSHH risk assessment applying relevant control measures to identified hazards

Certification
Successful candidates will receive a One Stop Safety Training Certificate, valid for 3 years.
