Course Overview
The City & Guilds 6160-01 Level 2 Qualification in Working in Low Risk Confined Spaces is a one day course designed to prepare delegates to safely enter, work in and exit low risk confined spaces. The course is certificated by City & Guilds, valid for three years, costs and focuses on safety, compliance and practical awareness in confined space environments. Assessment is through practical observation and a written test and successful delegates will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
Course Content
The course covers confined space legislation and legal responsibilities, identification of confined spaces and associated hazards, confined space risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work for confined space operations and the importance of a confined space rescue plan. Delegates will prepare to work safely in low risk confined spaces, enter and exit confined spaces safely, use equipment and tools correctly, follow safe working procedures, deal with emergencies and understand standard protocols for low risk confined space working. Practical elements include ascending, descending and traversing a confined space simulator while wearing an approved safety harness and full PPE. Low risk courses do not include the use of breathing apparatus.
Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for anyone who is required to enter or work in low risk confined spaces as part of their role, including operatives, maintenance staff and contractors who need a recognised qualification to demonstrate competence and legal compliance.
