Course Overview

The aim of GWO First Aid Refresher training is to teach delegates to support and care for themselves and others working in the industry by possessing First Aid knowledge and skills.

Course Content

• Learn the importance of carrying out first aid in a safe manner in accordance with the legislative requirements of their geographic location and according to ILCOR e.g. ERC and AHA guidelines.


• Identify and explain normal function, normal signs and symptoms of serious and minor injuries and illness related to the human body.


• Demonstrate understanding and correct order of management in an emergency in a WTG environment.


• Demonstrate correct use of lifesaving First Aid using the Primary Survey "C" A–B–C including the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).


• Demonstrate correct use of the Secondary Survey.


• Demonstrate correct use of first aid equipment in a first aid scenario.

Upon completion of the course, delegates will be awarded with a GWO approved First Aid Refresher certificate. Certification is valid for 2 years. Prior to expiry delegates must undertake GWO First Aid Training Refresher to remain certified.

Who Should Attend?

GWO First Aid Refresher training is aimed at personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields and will have their duties in a wind turbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or an offshore wind structure.

Delegates must hold a valid and in-date GWO First Aid Certificate or Refresher Certificate.
