Course Overview
The CITB Temporary Works Co-Ordinator course is a two-day training programme that provides the essential knowledge and understanding needed to carry out the role of a Temporary Works Co-Ordinator safely and effectively.
Delegates will gain a clear understanding of good risk and safety management practice that can be applied directly on site. The course builds confidence and competence in managing temporary works operations from planning through to completion.
Course Content
During the course, delegates will learn about:
- The purpose and key duties of a Temporary Works Co-Ordinator
- Legislation and codes of practice relevant to temporary works
- The application of BS 5975:2019 and how it relates to the TWC role
- The importance of the “4 Cs”: Communication, Co-ordination, Co-operation and Competency
- Understanding and applying effective risk management
- The responsibilities of others involved in the temporary works process

Successful delegates will receive a CITB Temporary Works Co-Ordinator certificate valid for five years.
To remain qualified, delegates must complete the Temporary Works Co-Ordinator Refresher before their certificate expires.
