Course Overview
Stress is a real problem for both organisations and their employees. It accounts for a significant proportion of work related illness each year. Being aware of the signs of stress, some of the triggers and how to manage them can make a real difference to your wellbeing and that of people around you. This course will cover an introduction to stress and why it's a problem, some of the causes of stress and some ways to minimise the risk of stress.
Course Content
The Health and Safety Executive states that work-related stress develops because a person is unable to cope with the demands being placed on them. This can come from any aspect of their life, but it often comes from demands placed on them at work. The latest HSE figures show that work-related stress, depression or anxiety account for 52% of all work-related ill health, making it the single largest driver of ill health at work. Stress management training online explains that some occupations may be more susceptible to stress, but it can affect anyone, and can impact on health, ability to function effectively at work and at home, and in relationships. The course covers an introduction to stress and why it's a problem, giving staff the background needed before moving into causes and practical management. Stress management training online covers some of the causes of stress, helping staff recognise the pressures that tend to build into a stress response before it becomes serious. The course finishes by covering some ways to minimise the risk of stress, giving staff practical steps rather than only an awareness of the problem. Anyone who wants to understand the signs and causes of stress and how to manage the risk for themselves or their team.
