Course Content
Security threats facing schools have evolved over the past decade, and having a clear lockdown procedure in place helps schools respond calmly and effectively if a lockdown situation ever arises. Lockdown procedure training for schools introduces the role of the lockdown officer, so the school has clear ownership of the procedure, rather than assuming everyone knows what to do by default. The course discusses some of the likely reasons for a lockdown, giving staff realistic context for when and why the procedure might need to be used. The course goes over some of the steps you can take to prepare your school for lockdown, covering practical preparation rather than only theoretical awareness of the procedure. Lockdown procedure training for schools covers what to do in the event of a lockdown taking place, so staff know how to act in the moment rather than trying to work it out under pressure. Anyone working in a school who may be involved in lockdown planning, or who would need to respond if a lockdown were called, particularly designated lockdown officers. What is a lockdown officer?
