Course Overview
This short course provides you with an introduction to the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, otherwise known as PUWER. You will learn about the types of equipment that fall under this legislation along with the common hazards, equipment inspections and maintenance.
Course Content
PUWER training online starts by explaining what PUWER actually is, so staff understand the scope of the regulations before moving into the practical detail. The course covers the equipment listed under PUWER, giving staff clarity on what falls within scope of the regulations and what doesn't. PUWER training online covers the responsibilities of the employer and the employee under PUWER, since compliance depends on both sides understanding what's expected of them. The course covers the common hazards of using work equipment, giving staff a practical grounding in what can go wrong rather than only the legal framework. PUWER training online covers the different methods of guarding used to protect people from hazardous equipment, so staff understand the range of control measures available. The course finishes by covering the inspection of equipment, since ongoing inspection is what keeps equipment safe to use long after it was first put into service. Anyone who uses, supervises, or has responsibility for work equipment in their role.
