Course Overview
A Face Fit Test checks that an individual's Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) fits correctly and provides an effective seal against their face. As everyone's face shape and size are different, testing ensures the specific make, model and size of mask is suitable for the wearer.
Face Fit Testing helps protect workers from hazardous substances such as dust, fumes and airborne particles, while helping employers meet their legal responsibilities under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations.

Course Content
The Face Fit Test process includes:
An individual assessment of the make, model and size of the mask being used.
A series of basic movements and tasks while wearing the mask.
Checks to determine whether the mask provides an effective seal.
Advice on adjustments or alternative masks if the initial test is unsuccessful.
One additional re-test included in the price, if required.
Testing takes approximately 20–30 minutes. Following completion, an electronic report detailing the results will be issued.
The test remains valid until the wearer changes their mask or experiences a significant change to their facial shape, including growing facial hair.
Who Should Attend?
Face Fit Testing is suitable for anyone required to wear tight-fitting respiratory protective equipment (RPE) as part of their job.
This includes workers who may be exposed to hazardous dust, fumes or airborne particles, particularly those working in construction, manufacturing and other environments where respiratory protection is required.
Employers should ensure employees undergo Face Fit Testing to confirm their masks provide the correct level of protection.
